First off.. LOVE the yellow!  What a great spring color to add some extra flair to their photos :)  Also, Anita & Barry are getting married THIS Saturday!  Yep, you heard right.. we’re so excited!  Thankfully we were able to squeeze in an engagement shoot before then.  I am totally looking forward to shooting their wedding this weekend – so keep an eye out for that preview sometime next week – it’s gonna be awesome!  All the best to you both :)

B&W Film

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Throughout my years at school, I got the privilege of having 2 semesters of black & white film classes.  Working in the darkroom is such a unexplainable joy for me.  The process, the smells, mmm…  I don’t get the chance to do it often because of film cost and the fact that I don’t own a darkroom!  However, I was able to scan some of my film so I could share it with you.. there is just something about film photography that you just can’t accomplish with digital.

This part 1 of my B&W film posts contain more of an editorial approach.  Capturing people in their work station or just a hang out place in their day.  I certainly enjoy the film shots so I hope you do too!  Keep and eye out for part 2!

Travel

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

So, as many of you may know, I enjoy traveling.  I don’t care much where I go because I always have a splendid time learning new things and living grand adventures.  This past July, my family and I took a vacation all over!  Needless to say, we learned how to entertain ourselves in the many hours of car riding :)

We left Nashville and headed out to Hershey, PA.  Hello, CHOCOLATE WORLD!  We had fun learning the history of chocolate as well as visiting the amusement park!  We then journeyed over the border to Toronto, Canada and ended up finding an Indian festival going on – so, of course, we had to attend.  The colors and people were beautiful and the food was ah-ma- zing!  We also got to walk around the city and the beach.  Our path then took us to Amherst, OH (a small town near Cleveland) to visit with our wonderful family friends (as well as go to one of the top roller coaster parks in the world – Cedar Point!).  Much fun was had by all.  Our last trek was to Chicago, IL, one of my ALL TIME favorite cities!  Of course, I love all the shopping and photo possibilities, but I mostly enjoy walking on the bustling streets.

The photos I’m sharing with you today are from the Canadian part of the trip.  Yes, we were able to go to Niagra Falls, but I wasn’t prepared to take my lovely camera toward all that water!  So enjoy some of the Toronto photos – hopefully it’ll give you a taste of what the city is like!

Coupons, anyone?!

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Yes, I admit it.. I love when those coupon books comes in the mail.  I get excited looking through them for a good place to eat or any other surprise discounts I may find!  The past few months, I’ve been able to get on the other side of the Coupon Mint Magazine and help get a few shots for their ads from different business around town.  I thought I’d share some of my photographs and you Nashville (and surrounding areas) peeps will have to keep an eye out for the magazine when it comes out!  Woohoo!

First off, was the Ravenwood Country Club – these have already been published in the previous magazine as well…

Lookin’ fiiiine… they used this one (below) for the cover of the Davidson book.

The next place is at the Gyro Cafe in Smyrna – they were so nice and the food was excellent!

These last two photos are from the fabulous Mediterranean Cuisine over in Brentwood – SO GOOD!  I highly recommend taking a trip over there for their scrumptious food!
